01
Start with one service and a realistic working area
A local roofing repair and a main contracting appointment involve different searches and decisions. Name the service, who buys it and where you can deliver it. Check whether your website explains that offer before choosing a channel. A visitor should be able to recognise the right service without searching through an unrelated portfolio.
02
What SEO contributes
SEO addresses how search engines discover and understand your pages, and whether those pages answer a prospective client’s questions. For a contractor, that can mean clearer service descriptions, relevant project stories and accurate working areas. It requires ongoing attention; improved pages do not come with a guaranteed position or enquiry volume.
03
What Google Ads contributes
Google Ads can place adverts against relevant searches once campaigns are approved and launched. You pay for the advertising separately from the work involved in managing it. Choose a focused landing page, explain the service and give the visitor a clear way to enquire. Paying for clicks does not establish whether the resulting projects are suitable or profitable.
04
When the website needs attention first
If people cannot identify your services, see relevant work or contact you reliably, address those problems before expanding promotion. A full rebuild is not always necessary. A better service page, a clearer enquiry route or stronger project evidence may be the appropriate first scope.
05
How the channels can work together
The same useful service information can support organic search and advertising. Search and enquiry feedback can reveal questions that your website does not answer. Treat those as opportunities to improve the content, while keeping paid and organic reporting distinct. Do not assume a paid campaign will improve organic rankings.
06
A relevant commission: ProBuild Contracts
Crafters provided branding, website design and Google Ads for ProBuild. The portfolio shows how the identity and service navigation were brought together. ProBuild reported a more professional presentation and growth in enquiries or new clients, but that feedback covers the engagement as a whole. It is not a verified return on advertising spend.
07
Judge the enquiries as well as the clicks
Agree how you will record calls and forms, then note whether enquiries match your services, location and capacity. Review campaign spend and search visibility alongside that feedback. A click, a submitted brief and a won project are separate stages; a useful report should make those differences clear.
